                           Reflection Time

I just finished my first two projects for this class, and they actually went better than I expected. Working on them was a good experience, my team and partner were great to work with . Nothing can beat a great dynamic like that. It felt good to see our hard work come together in the end too.

One of my favorite parts was being able to use my creativity. I enjoyed coming up with ideas, planning how things would look, and figuring out how to make the project more interesting.

Seeing how the project ended up made me feel more confident with my abilities of the use of camera movement and angle shots.

Project one:

For the first project, I helped collectively think of the idea for our camera movement video. After the story for our video was developed, I then became the person behind the camera. I helped tell the person taking the shot where and when to take the shot. It's more complex than that; there were people in the

way, walls that could have been hit from the camera person keeping focus on the shot, and doors that needed to be shut for the shot, so the people outside had to wait for a little. They didn't seem happy, but other than that, the project was fun.

For this to be my  first experience doing a project for media studies, I would say it was a great one. This project gave me a more understanding  of how the following projects in the future will be.

Project 2:

Using my knowledge on the first project it helped me be more prepare for the second one.

The second project was way better than the first project, in my opinion. There was more creativity in this project than the other. I helped create the storyline more with the help of my partner. I help set up the shot and take the shot of the Lego we used for the angle shot project. The result of the shot came out as perfect as we wanted it to.

When doing one of the shots, it was a little complicated because we had to make the Lego character look like it was flying in the shot, but for us to replicate that idea, I had to throw the Lego multiple times in the air, almost making me lose a piece of the Lego and taking more time on just that one shot. Luckily, I did a phenomenal job, and got that shot to come out really good. Even my teacher liked how it came out, as she said it actually made her laugh. Something I would do differently in the project is to change the scenery, too many flying bugs surrounded us.

Project 2

   Learning skills

Even though I learned about camera movement and camera shots, I still have a lot to learn. One takeaway from both of these projects is that they made me get more comfortable with understanding how camera movement and angle shots work. The learning process of camera works was to study their meaning and do practices of them by doing little practices that were given to us in class. While doing the projects, I learned how to and how they work. I now better understand how to set up an angle shot and move the camera in a certain position that I'm supposed to, so if someone says a shot, I know how it would look when taken. I still do need more practice with them, but for now it's not looking that bad.

My final sayings

The class exercises and projects have really opened my eye's to help me understand the way camera movement and angle shots are used in filmmaking. When I think about on everything I've learned , it's clear that every project has helped me grow. Now that I’ve gone through these  couple of projects, I feel more confident and prepared for the next ones. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how I can improve and try new things in the upcoming projects.
