Cover Magazine

MAGAZINE TIME!

SUMMER TRAVEL- That’s my magazine cover name. The genre I chose was to make a magazine about summer and what’s up to come for the year to come. My teacher actually came up with this name, I just brought the idea to life by using It! My cover conveys this genre by showing the sunset of a beach house resident. The sunset, palm trees, and the beach house shows a relax beach vacation, indicating it as a tropical, glowy place for the summer time. I made my cover lines about the topics about the magazine and each contribute summer or travel places. M puff also catches the attention of surfers too, so the magazine brings in different audience is vibrant with the contrast of the colors of the texts. My direct address cover lines sums of what the entire magazine would be about which is “HOTTEST TRAVEL PLACES THIS YEAR”.

LEARNING PROCESS- How I learned how to organize my magazine was by learning in class first with an example and an assignment that made me label different part of a magazine. I started to understand how to align my cover lines and how bold to make my title and cover lines.

CHALLENGES- I started second guessing my cover picture because I thought it didn't really go with what my magazine was going to be about (summer travel). I thought i would need to make my picture lighter, so it pops out. My thought on how I wanted it to end was challenge me because I wanted to look just how I pictured it. I got help from friends on the adjustment of my coverlines because i didn't know where it would look best, but after understanding how to structure them and the boldness on each of them should be adjusted, I was satisfied with how it came out and how I would do it for future projects.

WHAT I LEARNED & WHATS NEXT- What i would take away from this project is the cover lines don’t have to be perfect so I shouldn’t really stress on how they are organize and rather put more effort into perfecting other things as well, not just the lines.

HOW WILL THIS HELP ISA’S PORTFOLIO-  This really won’t help my portfolio because Im doing a movie, But this is helpful so i can choice which one i like. I still choose the movie. or successes you had creating your cover

First Premiere Pro Project

I just fished my first project on the editing app Premiere Pro! I have never used the app before, but after I watched the videos and practice the editing skills from it , I reached an understanding of the app and created my first own project , which was a editing a video of a ice cream place with different clips.

My experience creating these clips were not as hard I as i thought. I had a concept of what i wanted and the finished project to look like and i believe I executed it perfectly. Cutting and plugging them into the my project was very fun to do. I genially enjoyed working on this project

One thing I would take away from this whole project is editing the clips isn’t as hard, as long as i know how to shorten them, import them and mute and overlap clips. As long as in know those, the editing part becomes pretty easy.

If i could change one thing, I’d spend more time adding music. I saved it for last and ended up not including it in my final project.

What the process taught me:

I learned a lot through out this whole project. An imp
ortant thing i learned is what the 4 square are called and used for, so know i know where to put everything and what to do when editing, importing, cutting all my clips.

Here is a picture of my masterpiece in the works.

Successful outcomes:

I think my work came out good, and my editing techniques were niche. My editing was smooth, with no clips longer than the audio shown or clips extending more than it needs to. I managed to finish the video in time, which surprised me because it was my first time dealing with that app and I didn’t know a lot about it ,nor do i still do.

Challenges:

I faced multiple challenges during this project. One was understanding the skill practice course given to me to learn the concept of the app. I struggled with the most important step, which was importing the files to the app. I had to get help from my teacher to know how to do it. Another thing I struggled with was the music I wanted to put on my project. I didn’t know how to cut it from the source panel and put it directly into my timeline. I just put the whole song and cut it, but it would cut and keep going longer than I wanted. That’s why I gave up and wanted to finish the whole project so I scraped that whole idea out the window.

Enhancing  my portfolio:

This project certainly helps my portfolio. This project helped me learned the basic skills needed to edit my portfolio. My portfolio is the movie, so this will help me cut the clips into clips I only need to use for my portfolio.
